“Amelia!” I said, while working on my latest experiment, “How can people get bored? Aren’t they even a little bit curious? This enormous amount of unanswered questions! And people are still bored?!” by now I am hopping around from place to place gathering little pieces to complete my experiment. “Not everyone is like you Sebastian.” Amelia chuckles, after giving me her traditional sigh that has been increasing to twenty times a day. Humans and their little brains, they’re adorable.

We’re living in a universe where millions of stars explode in a single second. While you’re drinking your morning coffee there’s a supernova occurring somewhere in this infinite world, and all people can think about is love. Feelings, emotions, and all these materialistic possessions have always been the most important issues that human beings care about which are utterly absurd. The human species think that love can cure whatever pain there is, apparently with love you can rule the world! Simply, idiots everywhere.

I call Amelia as soon as I add the last drop of the chemical, “Amelia I need to go and speak with Alexander, it’s very important. Just keep an eye on the filled beakers” she gave me a frustrated look, “Sebastian I already told you I have an important meeting tod-“ Amelia and her excuses, “I’ll be back in an hour” as I rushed towards the door “If anything happens call me, and don’t touch anything!” Amelia started with her excuses again trying to grab my attention by her raising her voice, but all she got was a smirk, and me leaving the room. Humans always find excuses to run away from their ‘problems’, convincing themselves by neglecting reality and ‘overcoming’ their issues. Sluggishness runs in their blood.

An hour later, I reached the lab however get taken aback by what’s in front of me. I saw a cloud of unclearness inside the room, and as I open the door, fumes of poison rush through me. While trying to detect whatever happened, looking all over like a mad man, I spot one of the beakers exploding like a volcano, I glimpse Amelia passed out on the counter, AMELIA! I flash towards her and carry her out of the room.

Two weeks passed and Amelia is still in the hospital, unconscious. The huge amount of concentration of Carbon Monoxide (CO) gas caused a huge damage to her brain which may cause memory loss and some confusion. I am concerned, which is an emotion that I don’t mainly step upon, but now it’s different, it’s Amelia, the only person who never gave up on me, she always ‘cared’ about me, which was something that I never understood.

I’ve been sitting next to her for the last five hours, what’s happening to me?

At 6:00 pm she finally woke up. At first, confusion was there and then an expression that I wouldn’t have predicted; horror. “Get out now!! Please don’t hurt me! Help! HELP!” As soon as I was trying to comprehend what is happening, the doctors and nurses came in pulled me out of the room, and Amelia was drugged back to sleep.

After talking to the Doctor, I learned that because of uncertainty in her memory, she thinks that I abused her so badly and that’s the reason why she ended up in the hospital in the hospital. After thinking, well, I can’t believe I am saying this and I am not sure how, but I care about her and part of what happened to her is my fault, therefore I am obliged to help her recover, and I’ll try everything I can to make her believe that I care about her once and for all.

Three months later, after all the assistance that I did, and after all the agony that we went through, I can finally say that Amy is back to normal. Also, well, I am taking some lessons in ‘emorions’ from Amy, a tiny part of me still thinks thst they are ineffective but I am trying to overcome it. Feelings, Emotions, Love, Curiosity, and Imagination is what makes us human.
