We all have dreams, but we also have debilitating fears. Joanne, an extraordinary young girl from New York, aspired to become a musician. However, she did not feel adept enough, nor did her impudent peers. This was her struggle for success.

“I am going to be a star” Joanne mumbled to herself in the mirror, just like how she did every other day to maintain her faith in her talent. No matter how much she reiterated that, the people around her were not convinced. They made it their daily goal to shackle this alacritous girl and to dim her shine. No matter how preserved she tried to be, she could not repress her tears. Their scathing words scraped her soul, “You will never succeed! You will never be a star!” was all that played in her head at night as she drenched her pillow.

Joanne’s external struggle confounded her spirit, and she lost all hope. She truly felt useless after the last spark in her died out. She was no longer the same unfettered person who fervently fought for her dreams; she was just another conventional girl. Right when she was about to grab that razor and slit her wrist, the final glimpse of hope glimmered, a text message. All she needed was a helping hand, and that was what her friend Alizey offered. She was there to support her, to mollify her pain, and bolster her dreams. Alizey also happened to be a musician, and so they formed a duo and swept all the clubs and bars in town. A few weeks later, Joanne signed a record deal with one of the biggest labels, and established herself as a powerhouse in the industry.

Although Joanne succumbed to her insecurities, she managed to rise again and achieve all her dreams, because she believed in herself, and everybody who antagonized her had to live in an everlasting deploration.
